The Jewish Federation extends our heartfelt condolences to loved ones of those murdered in the New Zealand Mosques. We wish those who were injured a refuah shlemah, a full and speedy recovery.

We also send heartfelt condolences to members of our Muslim community – our neighbors who are hurting from this hateful act.

Our houses of worship should be safe places for all of us. This senseless loss of life as well as injuries to so many is heartbreaking.

May the memory of those murdered be a blessing to their loved ones and may their families find comfort and support from their community, country and all of us around the world.

May this Sabbatj be one of peace for all people – of any faith and of no faith – and may we all strive to treat every person as a creation in G-d’s image.
